In very rare cases, the app gets stuck on the loading screen after it has been used for a long while.

To get passed this:

1. If you use iOS 4 with multitasking, double click the home button to show your recently used apps across the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on one of those apps, and after a second, minus signs will appear on the app icons. Tap on the minus sign for the Balloon Animals app. This will close the app. Re-open the app.

2. If you are using iOS 3, then you will need to restart your device. You can do more comprehensive restart by holding down the sleep/wake button and the Home button at the same time. Ignore the "slide to power off" and just keep holding the buttons until the device powers off, then start the device again.
