Use Birder's unique tools to locate the birds that you want to see and birds you would have never expected to see! Birder combines millions of historical eBird records with real-time sightings from other Birders to deliver a complete and up-to-the-minute picture of what other birders are seeing. You'll never miss a chance to see that rare bird again!

On vacation? Don't worry, we've got you covered! With Birder in your pocket you are equipped to find and report any one of the 10,005 global species currently in the eBird taxonomy.

With Birder, it has never been easier to record detailed sighting information including plumage varieties and audio notes. Essential information such as time, date and location are automatically recorded, and all of your sightings are added to your Life List to help you keep track of your observations with an intuitive interface. Birder also tracks a chronological list of your sightings so that you can quickly review what you've seen recently and enter new sightings of the same species. When you register for an account with Birder, all of your sightings are stored on our secure server so you never have to worry about losing your life list again!

Utilizing an exclusive color-coded map overlay, Birder enables you to dynamically geovisualize your sightings and find areas with the greatest species diversity as well as sighting density. Birder lets you see sightings wherever they occur, even if there are no hotspots nearby.

Only Birder allows you to attach photos of your observations to your sighting records and share them with other Birders. All of the rich photos found in Birder are sourced from our community, allowing you to see the actual birds other birders are seeing. These beautiful photos are framed by a refined high-contrast graphical interface that is specifically designed for visibility in bright light.

Birder's mission is to help bring the joy of bird watching to everyone. In order to give as many people as possible the opportunity to use Birder's powerful tools, Birder is a free, ad-supported app with an optional upgrade for an ad-free experience. Data from the Birder network, including photographs and sightings from other Birders, is available on a subscription basis.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON GPS FUNCTIONALITY
-----------------------------------
Before using the Hive or Map features, you must first enter a sighting from the Life List or Sightings tab so that the Birder app can locate itself. In order to ensure the best possible signal, we recommend taking your GPS-enabled device outside to an area with a clear view of the sky. The Hive and Map features will not work properly until this step has been completed. Birder will work on devices without GPS, but unfortunately some of our features will not be available.

Creole Nature Trail

By BarZ Adventuresreleased on:2010-12-02T01:02:27Z

Welcome to your personal tour of Louisiana's Creole Nature Trail All-American Road! From your vehicle, the wild and ruggedly beautiful wetlands of the Creole Nature Trail appear peaceful and tranquil, but don't be fooled. Known as Louisiana's Outback, this fertile world where land and water merge is teeming with life and activity. In fact, the area supports 28 species of mammals, more than 300 species of birds and 132 species of fish, not to mention the largest American Alligator population in the United States.

From Lake Charles to the Gulf of Mexico, the Creole Nature Trail traverses more than 180 miles (including four wildlife refuges) in Southwest Louisiana. Outdoor adventures are the top draw, naturally. Oak cheniers and world-class bird and alligator populations are a natural wonder. Top-notch fishing, hunting, crabbing, boating, nature photography and other outdoor opportunities distinguish the Creole Nature Trail as a recreational paradise for all ages.

Through both audio and video content, the Creole Nature Trail is designed to bring to life this vast wilderness area. The hardy and extremely resilient people who choose to live in these wetlands. The wildlife, both land and aquatic, who thrive in this unique ecosystem, ultimately providing valuable food for the entire United States. The vast mineral resources and the underground pipeline systems which bring energy to the nation. And the almost yearly impact of hurricanes on a disappearing coastline.

For your ease and safety, the Creole Nature Trail Tour Experience is automatically activated based on your GPS coordinates regardless of whether you are driving or strolling out into the marshlands at several handicap accessible boardwalks.

Come on, experience Louisiana's Outback via your own personal guide. Or, as we in south Louisiana like to say, Laissez les bon temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!)
