The updated iPhone application from the Royal Horticultural Society - Grow Your Own - is designed to help you choose and grow fruit and vegetables - however much space or time you have. The base application, which is free, covers the 20 most popular varieties of fruit and veg. Within the application itself you can buy an add-on (for "u00a31.79) to extend the content (an extra 16 plants) and functionality of the app.
The basic FREE app includes:

We have noticed comments about seeds being added or removed, and our users should note that their page must be refreshed in order to see additions or deletions, but your changes are being saved. We are also preparing an update in the next few days that will add the following requested functions:
* Ability to choose if you have planted from seed or from starters, with the appropriate harvest data.
* Additional growing and zone information.
* Ability to add new seed types to the database.

This app is free to try and test for gardens up to 2x2 squares. If you like the app please upgrade for larger gardens (up to 8x8) and to add more than one vegetable.

* Fill in your garden grid by choosing from the available, pre-loaded vegetables.
