The Public Radio Player offers streaming audio from public radio stations across the United States. The Player currently offers more than 500 station streams and 1,000 on-demand programs. Public Radio Exchange (PRX) is responsible for the development of the Public Radio Player. The project is supported in part by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and originated from a collaboration run by PRX in partnership with NPR, American Public Media and Public Radio International, with participation from Doc Searls and Project VRM at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. PRX continues to work with stations, producers, networks, and listeners for advisory input on the Public Radio Player.
